Last two days before Presentation!

Today, we did the final adjustment and I edited my fence texture by changing it to a paint bump and make the bump more obvious and correcting the lighting for this scene and after all is done, its time for us to go for a short talk. So, after that I batch render all of the different layers!

12th day!

Today, Mr Sankar teaches us how to do our dust particles in shot 2 and how to composite it in nuke! We learn something new today which is using the hardware buffer thing to render our particles. And after that I composite our different passes together for shot 2 to see if everything works well. But, there's something happening to the models. It is jumping and so, I render the footage in maya and replace with the old footage and it works! But, I have to re-roto the character again because it is off. So, I have spent the afternoon doing roto and the particles.

1st day of last week!

Today, we did roto-ing for shot 3 again and after that Mr Sankar came and he help us with the remover of tracker because we found out some problem which is having difficulties removing those on the floor as the plane i created is moving and the texture doesn't work. So, he tried a few times in nuke but still doesn't work as there's problems with the tracking. In the end, we decided to clone it frame by frame!! And we end this day by getting a nice smoke particles from Mr Sankar!

Tomorrow, we will try to composite it into shot 2 and try adjusting til nice nice. :D

Last Day of 2nd Week!!

Tried placing a cylinder and apply a surface shader on it and save the texture and then clone it in photoshop and reload it with the new texture which do not have the tracker on it. This is for the first pole.

This is for the 2nd pole.
This is for the third pole.

Today i did the above for removing of trackers and continue with the roto-ing for shot 3.

9th day!

Today, I did render pass for shot 2 and then batch render and while waiting for the batch render to finish I continue with the roto-ing for shot 3 and after all the render finished, I composite them into nuke and roto out the lamp at the side.

8th day!

Today, we did roto-ing for shot 3 because of the fence at the back of the character. And i also continue with the removing of tracker and getting help from  Mr Sankar on how to merge the nodes together but at the same time we found out problems like it doesnt work for some parts of the tracker. So, he suggested us to build a cylinder and snap it to the locator and apply a projection and then put the texture on the cylinder.

So, today all we did was roto-ing!! It is so tough =(

7th Day!

Today, I texture the Robot and I also remove the tracker using nuke for shot 2. Mr Sankar teach me how to clean the tracker using a more easier way which is track the tracker and then put a rotopaint and clone stamp it and change the tracker to match-move.

Heres the robot:

I tried putting scratches as the bump map but it doesn't work, so now we let Shaheed to try texture it in mudbox.

Second Week!

Today, I did lighting for shot 2 and getting some feedback from Mr Pang on the lighting for this shot. He gave me some feedback on my fences like the fences should not be too thick and the both at the end is like square-rish, and the texture on my fences shouldn't have algae because it doesnt make sense. So, I spent the afternoon re-modelling my fences and re-texture it. And it look nicer and more correct.

I re-model the fences and Mr Leong also told me to put a plank below as the fences cannot be stuck on the conrete floor.
I put a color, and then apply a bump map of my wood texture in the bump. So, that the fences will have a wood bump on it.

Last day of 1st week!

Today, I track finish shot 2 and import it into maya. This time the grid didn't move but the perspective is abit off. So, we put it into maya and match the perspective there. After that, I find reference picture for my fence and tried model it. Finally its done, and i took few hours to do the textures because i have to make it random and creating my own texture as those in the internet ones are all clean. I put it in photoshop and put a algae textures on top of the wood i found. After that i apply it onto my fence model and slowly choosing a few and slowly using the uv texture editor to adjust the texture. I also added Shaheed's bench model into the shot. After that i added bump to my fence.

I also did IBL for shot 3. But, theres some problem the picture could not match together as they could not find the same pixel. So i have to match the picture together myself and slowly clone stamp those part which have hole.
This is the problem.

Reference For Fence:

 Before smooth
 After smooth
 Without bump
 With bump
The sides of the fence are messy and not nice. So,...
I slowly select each of the sides of the fence and adjust the uv in the uv texture editor.
This is the look of the 3d model added except the robot. We will add it next week. :)

Day 4!

Today, we went out for re-shoot and we went earlier. We manage to finish shooting all the three shot in the whole afternoon. After that we went back to the lab and try tracking the 2nd shot. Tomorrow, we will start adding CG object into the shot.

Later at night, we did Mocap for our robot with the help of Mr Leong and Danial. Hope that the action will match the one we shot in the afternoon and everything will go smoothly.

Third Day!

Today, we did filming for shot 3 and re shot for shot 2. But, the sky went dark and starts raining so we could not get any sunlight in the footage. We decided to go for a re shoot tomorrow and hopes tomorrow will not rain!!!
After that, we went back to the lab and i continue to edit my well model.

Second Day!

Today, i tried modelling the wishing well that we are going to use for shot 1 and after that we went out for shooting.

We filmed our shot 2 for the whole afternoon. After that we went back to the lab and let our supervisor check our shot. After that, we put the footage in Matchmover. We done tracking and tried putting the coordinates and the perspective looks good and correct! :D BUT, the grid keeps shaking.!!! :(

We will try to solve the problem tomorrow. Hopefully it can be solved.

First Day!

Today is the first day and we present our idea to our supervisor. After getting some feedback, we work on some research, planning and also walk around school to see where we can shoot for our shot.
